USDA PLANTS Database

The PLANTS Database provides standardized information about vascular plants, mosses, liverworts, hornworts, and lichens of the U.S. and its territories. It includes nomenclature, distribution, and characteristics data.

Florida Natural Areas Inventory (FNAI)

FNAI maintains Florida's natural heritage database, tracking rare species and natural communities. Their Natural Community Classification system defines the 45+ habitat types used in Eco Plant Hub for plant-habitat associations.

ITIS provides authoritative taxonomic information on plants, animals, fungi, and microbes. We use ITIS for taxonomic validation and common name standardization.

GBIF - Global Biodiversity Information Facility

International biodiversity data network

GBIF provides biodiversity occurrence records and associated media from museums, herbaria, citizen-science platforms, research institutions, and other publishers. Eco Plant Hub uses GBIF as a candidate source for plant occurrence context and licensed plant imagery where individual media records allow public commercial use.
